Whitley's Summer Festival is a Scorcher

Whitley Academy held it's annual Summer Festival on 19th July 2016, on what was to be the hottest day of the year so far. As temperatures reached 35 degrees, pupils and visitors navigated an inflatable obstacle course, rolled around a Zorb Ball track, and watched a staged emergency rescue from the West Midlands Fire Service.

More volunteers than usual queued up for 'Ye Old Stocks' (a firm favourite at the festival), in an effort to try and stay cool, and Whitley's ice-cream van proved very popular.

Whitley Academy managed to raise £1393 from the event which will go towards pupils provisions in September.

We hope everyone enjoyed the day and managed to cool down at home!
